Tool cursors

 

Default cursor

arrow.bmp (776 octets) The Arrow cursor appears anytime you're outside of the project window. It is the default cursor for selecting commands or tools and manipulating palettes options.

 

Selection cursors

marquee.bmp (576 octets) The Marquee Cross cursor appears when you select any of the selection tools and navigate inside the project window.

marquee_min.bmp (680 octets) To display the Marquee Minus cursor press and hold the Shift key. Dragging with with this cursor substract from the current selection.

marquee_plus.bmp (776 octets) Press to display the Marquee Plus cursor. Hold  Alt key and drag to add the new selection to the current one.

 

Magic Wand

magic.bmp (940 octets) This cursor works exactly like the marquee cursor. It is associated with the Magic Wand tool.

magic_min.bmp (940 octets)  Shift + Click to substract the similarly coloured zone from the current selection.

magic_plus.bmp (1064 octets) Alt + Click to add the similarly coloured zone to the current selection.

 

Move tool cursors

move_all.bmp (1464 octets) The Move Object cursor is associated with the move tool by default when no selection is made on the current project. Drag to displace the object. When using any other of Photonyx tools Ctrl + Drag to display this cursor and displace the current object.

move_selection.bmp (696 octets) When there is a selection on the current project you can displace it using the move tool (V). Doing so you'll only displace the selection mask with the Move Selection cursor. You also can access the Move object cursor by Alt + dragging and than moving the whole object while the selection maks remains in place.

 

Hand tool

hand.bmp (872 octets) This is the cursor associated with the Hand tool. Drag to pan and thus navigate the image as it was a true sheet of paper.

 

Object and History palette

pointing_hand.bmp (824 octets) The Pointing Hand appears when navigating the object or history palette. Click to select an object or an editing step in the history palette.

grab_hand.bmp (824 octets) Exclusive to the object palette the Grabbing Hand cursor appears when you grab an object in the object palette. It desappears when you release the object.

 

Type Tool

type.bmp (656 octets) This cursor indicates that the type tool is selected. Clicking on the project window will display the Type tool dialog box. The text will be added where you clicked with this cursor in the current project.

 

Zoom Tool

zoom.bmp (1256 octets) When you select this tool click with the left button of your mice to zoom in or right click to zoom out. Anyway the best use of this tool is to drag to select a rectangular zone that will be zoomed at.

 

Color Picker

picker.bmp (1008 octets) This cursor appears when you select the Color Picker tool (K) or when you press Alt with any of the painting tools and also with the paint can and type tool. Clicking with this cursors selected changes the foreground color in the Color Tuner palette.

picker_bkg.bmp (1008 octets)With the color picker tool selected Alt + click or with any of the painting tools Ctrl + Alt + click to change the background color.

 

Eraser

eraser_alpha.bmp (680 octets) This is the default Eraser cursor. Use it to erase the alpha channel of the object.

eraser_bkg.bmp (732 octets) Select from the Eraser option palette or press Alt to switch to the erase with background color.

eraser_magic.JPG (2005 octets) The magic eraser cursor appears when you select the magic eraser tool. This tool enables you to remove contiguous areas of similarly colored pixels.

 

Clone tool

clone_tool.bmp (416 octets) This cursor is associated with the clone tool. Once you Alt clicked to select the source you can paste a clone of the selected pixels and surrounding area anywhere on else on the project window.

clone_tool_click.bmp (416 octets) Press Alt to display the source cursor. You then can specify which portion of an image you wish to clone.

 

tips.jpg (910 octets)

precise.bmp (576 octets) The Precise cursor is not the prettiest cursor you may choose for the drawing, toning, focus tools. Anyway we strongly advise you to change all of the following cursors to the unique precise one. The only reason is that this cursor is much more precise than the prettier following ones. Press CAPS LOCK to switch to precise cursors.

Painting tools

brush.bmp (952 octets) You see this cursor by default when you paint with the brush (D).

airbrush.BMP (1076 octets) This is the default airbrush cursor .

pen.bmp (728 octets) This cursor appears when you select the pen tool.

finger.bmp (920 octets) Select the Finger Paint tool to display this cursor and smear colors inside the image.

paint_can.bmp (896 octets) This is the default cursor for the Paint Can tool (I)

Line and Gradient tools

grad_line.bmp (576 octets) This cursor appears when you select either the Line (L)or the Gradient (G) tool. It enables you to precisely define the start and end point of both line and gradients.

Focus tools

blur.bmp (696 octets) Select the Blur (B) tool from the toolbar to display this cursor or press Alt with the Sharpen tool selected.

sharpen.bmp (616 octets) Select the Sharpen tool from the toolbar or press Alt or B with the Blur tool selected.

Toning

sponge_desat.bmp (728 octets) This is the cursor you see when you use the Sponge - desaturate tool. You can also press Alt with the Sponge - saturate tool selected to achieve the same result.

sponge_sat.bmp (728 octets) This is the cursor for the Sponge - saturate tool and behaves exactly like is dual the Sponge desaturate

burn.bmp (824 octets) This is the cursor you see when using the Burn tool or when you press Alt with dodge tool selected.

dodge.bmp (824 octets)This is the cursor you see while using the Dodge tool or when you press Alt with burn tool selected
